Saturday 9: Kiss from a Rose (1996)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This song is from the movie, Batman Forever. The movie Batman v. Superman will be out later this month. In that matchup, who do you support -- The Caped Crusader or The Man of Steel?
~ Wow, why would these two have to be dueling each other? I thought they were both always good guys! Between these two I would choose Superman, but I would have to watch and see how the stories unfold first
2) "Rose" became a popular name in the 19th century, when parents also began naming their daughters "Iris," "Violet," "Daisy" and "Lily." Do you know anyone who has a flower name?
~ I know a Rose, a sweet lady I use to work with
3) This week's artist, Seal, has something to fall back on. At his parents' insistence, before he pursued music he got an associate degree in architecture from a small college in Westminster. What's the last grade you completed?
~ I completed my Associates Degree, with honors!
4) Seal wrote this song back in the 1980s but didn't really like it very much. His producer discovered it when they were looking for material to complete Seal's second album and the result was several Grammys. Tell us about a time when something turned out better than you thought it would.
~ Every time I ask my transportation to dialysis if they can swing through the Tim Horton drive thru so I can get a breakfast on my way in, they really don't have to be so sweet but I love it when they are!
5) Ex-wife Heidi Klum is not the only model in Seal's life. He also dated Tyra Banks. Can you name another famous model?
~ Christie Brinkley, Twiggy, Elle Macpherson
6) Seal is currently involved with yet another model, Australian Erica Packer. Between them they have seven children. How many siblings do you have, and are you the oldest, youngest, or in the middle?
~ There are five children in my family, I have three older brothers and one younger sister
7) Seal's birthday was back on February 19. Let's think about your birthday. If you could have any type of cake you wanted, what would you request?
~Chocolate cake, with chocolate frosting, crushed nuts on the side, and decorated for Halloween (my birthday is October 27)
8) In 1996, when this song was popular, Lyle and Erik Menendez were found guilty of murdering their parents in a crime and trial that dominated the news in Los Angeles. What are people in your town talking about?
~ The presidential election coming up
9) Random question: There's an old saying, "Like nails on a blackboard." Sam can't recall ever hearing nails on a blackboard, but she knows she hates the sound of a dripping faucet. What sound bothers you the most?
~ The sound of uncontrollable sobbing, abuse to animals, people speaking rudely, my alarm clock when i don't want to wake up

Friday 5 for March 18: Ticket to the Weekend
How many traffic tickets have you received, and what was the first?
~ The best way for me to answer this is to say "less than 10"! I've had a couple throughout the years, I can't remember the first one
What are some of the ticket stubs you’ve held onto?
~ I believe I still have my concert ticket stub from seeing Springsteen back in '85, great concert! I might still have one for a Bob Seger concert I saw too
What have you seen because someone had extra tickets?
~ I somehow received free tickets for the Detroit Renaissance Festival for free, can't remember from who or why.
I do recall I had an extra one so when I arrived at the festival with a friend, instead of selling it to somebody in the ticket line, I walked up to the last person in the line, and asked him if that was the line for tickets. He said it was and I gave it to him for free. I figured I got them for free, I may as well make somebody else's day by giving it to him for free as well. He was very happy and said he felt like he "just won first place"! I was happy to do that!
What have you won in drawings or raffles?
~ I won a Princess Di beannie baby, a basket full of dog yummies for my dog one year, and there was something I won at a work Christmas party one year but can't remember what it was -i just remember winning something and having to walk up stage before a crowd to get it!
How do you and your friends usually handle a restaurant bill?
~ We pay for our own order, usually ask for separate bills

Thursday 13: St. Patrick's Day
13 St. Patrick's Day Memories
1. Watching the movie The Quiet Man on TV with mom every year
2. A 'Totally Chocolate' pot luck that was held at a job one year in which our whole department brought in something with chocolate in it, I felt so jittery that night!
3. Enjoying the St. Patrick's Day cupcakes mom bought every year
4. Sitting on the porch on a fair weather day as my brother and his friends played in the front yard back in the '70's
5. My mom making corned beef and cabbage for dinner on St. Patrick's Day (I never liked it myself! )
6. Always wearing something green on St. Patrick's Day
7. Making up a plate of sweets I collected at a church festival for St. Patrick's Day, and giving them to our priest on one of my mom's best dishes because I thought he may like it (had a strange crush on that man!)
8. Going to the St. Patrick's Day parade in Detroit with some church members
9. Listening to, and enjoying, The Irish Rovers album The Unicorn. My mom had their album, I liked this one!
10. Always wanting to go to a bar to enjoy green beer with friends, but never having the chance.
11. Learning that in Ireland they don't go wild and celebrate like they do in he U.S.
12. Going to a St. Patrick's Day dinner at my sister's house, who made corned beef and cabbage. One year while there I had a peanut butter sandwich, the next year she talked me into a corned beef sandwich on rye bread with Russian salad dressing on it. -It was actually So Yum!
13. Making shamrock origami for a friend of mine, and giving him a pretty stone that was clear and held a four-leaf clover in it, he said he was going to use it as his card holder when he played poker
